SUMMARY

I designed a AI chatbot interface and managed its implementation for Luminous, a startup specializing in coaching sales and leaders soft-skills developments.

Mission & Challenges

The technical context changed drastically with the rise of conversational AIs. What the founders could only dream of when they started their product suddenly became widely available to the public and the target audience.

The problem to solve

  1. What differentiators does an AI coaching platform need to bring in to be better than a generic ChatGPT experience?

  2. What additional context and features can we provide to put users in the right mindset and lead to real self-development of soft skills?

Product Design Phase

Combining the coaching expertise of the founders with my experience in product design, I reimagined the User Experience to be conversation-centered.

Leveraging the intuition from our daily usage of AI chatbots, while adding all the background and context of real coaching sessions: conversation starters and coaching tools to orient the conversation.
Luminous creates programs for companies, a real coaching journey, tailored-made to fit the managers objectives

Driving the conversation with mini-prompts, helping to set a coaching context.

Plus, all the content and programs that were developed by the Luminous team are now made available either through conversations with the AI Coach or through a redesigned library of articles and sessions, rather than through a classical web app interface.

Mobile design

Having a coach in your pocket to train and develop soft skills during downtime has proven to be an effective strategy for busy professionals.

Product Management Phase

My experience in developing products with limited resources has taught me how to:

  1. Simplify features in accordance with a technical context

  2. Collaborate with the team to accelerate the Front-end development

  3. Release early, test and validate features with early adopters before scaling up the product

Results

The MVP we developed proved to be the crucial "zero to one" milestone that launched Luminous forward. What started as a carefully crafted proof-of-concept has since evolved into a business that has been generating over half a million euros in revenue. More importantly, it validated the founders' vision of making professional-grade coaching accessible through thoughtfully designed digital tools
